About never forget your love

About Never forget your love

The refrain came on a bicycle tour to the market in 2011.

The inspiration to the rest came after an evening with the family:

my sister and her children, my dad and mum, when we read the Songs of Solomon together. The text about love grew

as we read and I was really touch by the strength and depth of it.

Many waters cannot quench charity, neither can the floods

drown it. If a man should give all the substance of his house for

love, he shall not despise it as nothing

Songs of Solomon 8:7

I also thought about the passion of deep love. The love that makes you want to give up your life for the sake of your daughter or husband. For your sister or brother, mother or father.

As Jesus describes it in the gospel of Matthew

Why, when he had found one pearl of great price went and sold

all that he had and bought it.

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls.

When he found one of great value,

he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."

Matt 13:44-46

All in all, this song is about God's unfailing love for us.

That love will never be shaken or failing you, no matter where you are. It reaches out to every part of the world.

It is so deep it is sometimes hard to understand how He can love us so deeply. Experiencing this deep love to its end nothing can remain hard.

"Though the mountains be shaken
 and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you."

Isaiah 54:10
